Day 68 - Back from the East

by Bill Wallace on June 14, 2008

After an extended trip over east I’m back in beautiful Perth and getting back into a routine. I have to tell you I am tired of hotels, taxis and restaurant food. Give me a good home cooked meal and my motorbike and I’ll be a happy man.

I am happy though that while away I didn’t explode in my weight. Basically, after 9 days away I only added a kilo. I hope to remedy that this weekend with a 4km run today and a 10km run tomorrow. And that might mean I go under 80kg for the first time since I broke the 80kg barrier on the way up!

I’ve also realised that water is my friend when dieting. It tends to flush the system as well as fill the gaps with no calories when I feel a bit peckish. I didn’t drink that much water when I was away so that is one area I can improve next time. (which is August for anyone who cares! :) )

100 Push Ups - Steve SpeirsSomething else I have been thinking about for ages is toning up while I lose weight and I always thought that push ups and sits up would be a simple way to do this. Fortunately I was right and Steve Speirs confirmed it with his 100 push ups challenge. I can do 100 sit ups (30, 30, 20, 20) but Steve’s program will help me do 100 push ups in one hit over a 6 week program.

So I’m figuring I’ll be at my goal weight (76kg) and toned up in 6 weeks time! :)
