Day 99 – The “Perfect” Week

by Bill Wallace on July 14, 2008

A few people have been commenting about having a perfect day lately. If you know of the book “The Art of Possibility” by Ben and Rosamund Zander, you’ll know it starts off with an interaction between Ben and a young girl who flits off to have her “perfect day” as if it is nothing at all. (That’s the problem with kids these days, they are full of possibilities! :) )

A perfect week isn’t to upstage anyone here but more an aim to achieve as many perfect days as possible. And to have a perfect day is to simply meet the goals we set for ourselves – or I set for me in this case.

So here’s my Perfect Week:

Exercise Focus

  • Exercise 1: minimum of 4km run per day
  • Exercise 2: Complete week 2 of 100 pushups (I have to re-do this week as I fell off the wagon)
  • Exercise 3: 100 Sit ups every other day

Diet Focus

  • Diet 1: 1.8 litre of water per day (3 x 600ml)
  • Diet 2: 2 days of vegetarian only
  • Diet 3: No snacking on disallowed foods
  • Diet 4: No alocohol any day

Week ends Sunday evening.

I’ll report each day. It will also be interesting to see how the weigh in goes on Thursday night.

Have a great, if not perfect, week!  :)

Oh, by the way, 1 day to my 100 days of health and fitness. I have NEVER got this far before! :)

There seem to be quite a few people who are starting afresh lately.

I like the look of your perfect week. Have you thought about resting on some days and making your runs slightly longer on others?

And way to go on the streak!

Thanks Andrew, it’s all progress, even with a relapse now and then.

Good idea on the rest days. I’ll get through this version and then try the longer run – rest day after the race in a couple of weeks. It’ll help my stamina and prepare me for a 10km run. Good idea!
