I am SO out of date, out of shape and, probably, out of luck.
I have a triathlon in 2 weeks and the training has been basically zero. I went to the pool yesterday and swam 200m! Yep, just the “2″ and the race includes a 400m swim.
So guess what I am doing this next week ever day? Hittin’ the pool!
I went and bought goggles, snorkel and a, ahem, pullbouy! As my freestyle is actually “no style”. I need these tools to help me get my stamina up and not feeling like I’m sinking.
I know it’s been ages since I posted. I even got an email from young Andrew telling me to get back on the horse!
I just couldn’t bring myself to post if I didn’t believe I had the determination to keep going. But BIG thanks to Andrew who was giving a subtle kick in the A!
You can only post “I’m baaack!” so many time before it is is obvious I am NOT back, just wish I was.
Anyway, my team members for this “tri” are two VERY fit women who I cannot afford to disappoint, so the pool is my friend!
On the upside, I measured the pool to my house and it is 10km, the same distance as the race so the plan is to get to the pool with bike, swim 400m (maybe 500) and then ride home. Once home run to the shops and back (4km) and that will mirror the race.
I’ll then know (roughly) my time and endurance.
So, am I back on the horse?
Well, I guess I am for 2 weeks. After that we’ll see. I love being fit, I love seeing the weight come off and I love seeing the fat content reduce. I guess I have to love it just a little more in the future.

Heh…damn those annoying young uns eh!
Yes, they learn far too quickly and enjoy it all so much when they can tell their parents what to do and we HAVE to obey!
Love her really!
