I am on my 5th or 6th pair of Nike Vomero Bowerman series and they just work for me. The key was going to a specialty running store (The Running Room) and getting the right shoe for my type of foot. I like some cushioning and these just work for me.

Shoes are so personal and it is more art than science than you say - that is where a trained salesperson can really help. I want a runner to help me pick my shoes!

I have also seen on the new Nike+ site, they have a shoe finder. How helpful that really is, I don't know... But I think I will try it out and see what it comes up with.

Hi Dave
The Air Pegasus get a really good rap. I may ask around a bit more or even go to my favourite store who fits you properly and see how they come up. I think the guy at Sports Fever here is a podiatrist and is certainly a long distance runner, so a good source.
Thanks for replying

My last two pairs of shoes were Nike Air Pegasus and I really liked those! But my latest pair of shoes were some off brand (can't even really remember what they are) that were on sale. At first I wasn't too sure about em, but they have worked very well. All that to say though, I will probably go back to Air Pegasus (or something similar) next time I buy shoes.
