This year’s C2S is on August 30. That is just 28 days away. 4 weeks.
I’m not ready.
This time last year I was disciplined enough to run every other day and 10 kms on a Sunday. I felt good after running and I enjoyed the process. It is not until now that I realise how well I was doing and how well I was preparing for my first 12km run.
This year I have been way out of line in both training and eating. It’s only now that I can see the comparison. And it’s only now that I see how much the ongoing training was having such a positive impact last year.
Last year’s C2S time was 1 hr 4 mins.
I was planning to beat the hour this year but with only 4 weeks to go I’ll be happy to do 72 mins (avg 6 mins/km).
I began in earnest yesterday by running 6.5 km (according to my Nike+) and that included a long hill to get used to the inclines that await me in the C2S.
Today is a walk day just to keep easing into the training. Probably around the 4km mark.
Weather is good at the moment so there’s no excuses.
