… You’re having fun!
I finally got back into a groove! In the last week and a half I decided to “just keep running” and pounded out 72kms in the last 12 days. A lot of it was walk a song run a song type stuff but I’d been feeling like I wasn’t getting anywhere and needed to beat a few things into and out of me.
One of the days, a 12km run, was just run as far away from home as I dared and then come home. Not really a training regime but I felt the need to do it this way was more psychological than physical.
I have a new set of Brooks Adrenalins, thanks to Sports Fever in Subiaco and I think these are the shoes I will take to the grave with me. I tried Adidas, Brooks Dyads, tried on different others but in the end, the Adrenalins are the ones that just seem to work. So, no more experimenting with pretty colours or shoes that look great!
The Garmin 305 is back. It goes straight onto the charger as soon as I’ve uploaded the stats so I never have to run without it and I have the good old Nike+ in the shoe for the World Running League stuff.
I did start Hal Higdon’s Marathon training program but the flu got in the way so I will re-start that this week and get totally back on the training regime.
August’s stats:
- 10 runs
- 6 hrs 13 mins
- 64.06 km
- 5.50 mins/km
- 5611 calories
September stats
- 13 runs
- 9hrs 8 mins
- 77.53 km
- 7.04 mins/km (obviously more walking in September!)
- 6787 calories
More movement, now just need to eat better!

Glad to hear you’re back into the swing of things and enjoying it. I’ll be interested to read what you think of the Higdon marathon training plan as I’m trying to decide which plan to follow next year when I am hoping to make marathon no 2 part of the goals.
Great article . Will definitely apply it to my blog
