The 100 Push Up Challenge is the brain child of Steve Spiers. I’m just one of the many trying to achieve the goal.
Yesterday was Week 2, Day 3 of the challenge.
I achieved the targets of 16, 17, 14, 14, 20 (81 total) but only just.
I tried to do 21 on the last set but the good old “jelly arms” gave way to allow me a close up of the carpet.
While this is meant to be a 6 week challenge, reading how others have hit “walls” in the 6 weeks I’ve decided to just keep going until March 31 (8 weeks away) and on that day will be the first attempt at 100 Push Ups in a row. If I hit a wall I will continue at that point until I can do it and then move on.
The thing is I plan to do it on the net “live”!
Why live? Some sort of ego trip? Hardly, I’ve started this challenge a few times and failed. And to be honest, I don’t want to know if people are watching – it’ll just put me off. The sole aim of doing it “live” is just a mental thing that “people might be watching” and I want to be accountable for the result.
Another reason is that people, being visual, may benefit from seeing it happen and it might help and inspire in some way. I am a very average guy who will be 47 a week after the 31st so I’m no fitness guru.
How will it be live? Not sure yet. Just expect to be able to do it with technology the way it is. Any suggestions or help will be gratefully received.
So with jelly arms at my side, March 31 is D-Day for me. Maybe we can get a few people to do it that day if they’ve never tried it before. The whole aim is to achieve the goal.
